FAQs

On this page we will post and respond to any Frequently Asked Questions you might have about partnering with Louisiana Tech University as a Dual Enrollment English Instructor. We have a wide variety of materials available for your use, and browsing this blog will give you some idea of the way Tech would like you to create your English classes.

1. Where can I get copies of the course textbooks?

All materials suggested for use by Louisiana Tech are available for online ordering through our university bookstore. (It's probably a good idea to look online for competitive prices!)

2. What is the Freshman Composition Course Packet and where can I get a copy?

The Freshman Composition Course Packet is newly edited and printed each year.  You will be given an updated copy of the packet at the August meeting.

3. As I understand it, I will have to submit a course syllabus to you by the second week of classes. Am I free to use information from some of the sample syllabi on mine (i.e. course description & objectives)?

Yes, you are free to use any or all the syllabus information I provided, but the course schedule (with assignment and due dates) you submit to your students and to me needs to work in conjunction with your school's academic calendar.

4. Since students in 101/102 are required to use turnitin.com and Moodle, as a dual enrollment teacher would I also have access to those resources?

Yes, you will have access. At the August Dual Enrollment Collaboration Seminar there will be an orientation to Moodle and Turnitin.
