I want to remind you of our upcoming Dual Enrollment English Seminar next Tuesday, July 26th. The meeting will be held from 10:00-3:30 in the Library Conference Room (room 334) of The Prescott Memorial Library at Louisiana Tech University. Annual attendance at the seminar is required for all our DE partners. In the morning meeting we will discuss the results of the 2015-2016 student essay assessments from our department and your students' essays. We will provide you with the newly-edited 2016-2017 Freshman Composition Course Packet, our revised Course Guidelines, and a rubric to assist you in tracking student achievements of college-level expectations.
Later in the day, from 12:00-1:00, the Office of Enrollment will provide lunch at the Student Center for all dual enrollment teachers and coordinating faculty. After lunch, from 1:00-2:00, we will reconvene at the Library Conference Room for a brief norming session. At 2:00 we will move to the tenth floor of the library to discuss technical issues in the administration of our courses. This may be a short meeting. The afternoon slot will also be a good time for me to meet with any teachers new to Dual Enrollment at Tech or for those of you who would simply like to enhance your use of Moodle for online grading or teaching.
